Before Gain made 37 different household products that all smelled like Gain, luxury fragrance house Maison Francis Kurkdjian gave us Aqua Universalis, a unified suite of fragranced products, ranging from eau du parfum to incense papers, including linen spray, laundry detergent and fabric softener.
Does this clean well? Who cares? It smells like the perfume which smells like the candles which smells like the linen spray which smells like the. . . well, you get the picture. The fragrance is a riff on an eau fraiche, a medley of citrus and botanicals. It isn't particularly showy (it isn't even Francis Kurkdjian's best work), but it's well-constructed and elegant and unisex and screams "luxury", which is great, because that liter of detergent is going to run you a cool $55, and the linen mist $125.
